Share your Paraguay 🇵🇾 story

We love Paraguay. ❤️ The tereré culture, the genuine warmth of the people, and the business opportunities that brought many of us here.

But let's be honest, living here is like a real-life game where the rules change mid-play. Any official process sends you bouncing between offices, only to discover "express services" for those willing to pay extra. 💰 Meanwhile, you're dodging craters masquerading as streets, praying the power doesn't cut out, and when it rains? The capital becomes Atlantis.

Need medical attention? Public hospitals make you question time travel. Traffic jams? Legendary. That general feeling of watching your back? Just Tuesday in Asunción.

When you vent about this chaos, you'll hear: "¡Mbore!" But even locals are getting tired. Paraguay has incredible potential if basic systems worked without requiring divine intervention or creative financing.

This board collects these stories, the bureaucratic enigmas, infrastructure adventures, and moments that make you question reality.

POSTS ARE FULLY ANONYMOUS. NO NAMES, NO EMAILS, NO TRACKING. EVER.

Anyone actually managed to open a bank account here??

Seriously asking, how do you guys do it? Been trying for weeks to open a simple bank account. They want like 50 documents, proof of million of things and basically my life story. The bank employees treat you like you're bothering them just by existing. One lady literally rolled her eyes when I asked a question about the requirements. I just want to deposit my salary and contribute to the economy here. But they act like I'm trying to rob the place. Does anyone have tips? Like, is there a specific bank that's less impossible? Someone I should know? A magic phrase that makes them human? I'm starting to think they genuinely don't want foreign money in this country... 🤦‍♂️
